Yale Nursing Students Join Human Library Online
The Human Library is proud to partner with Yale University´s School of nursing and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the their nursing education. From August 28, the new digital bookshelf will be included as part of the compulsory learning exercises on a course for future nurses.
Two sessions for each student
During a compressed course of eight weeks, the students from Yale will have to complete two readings using their digital library card from the Human Library. Subjects and times can be chosen by the “readers” themselves on the bookshelf, where loans are offered on an ongoing basis.
Evaluation
When the students have completed their curriculum, they must participate in a reflection exercise and answer a number of questions about the knowledge they have acquired along the way. The goal is to sharpen their ability to meet different patient groups with an inclusive and empathetic approach.
Digital bookshelf gets more students as patrons
After Covid-19, the Human Library has developed a digital learning platform to provide a space for our books from around the world to publish to readers. Until now, the readers have mainly been employees from our diversity partners and local publishing partners. But in the coming months more students will begin to access the digital bookshelf. In addition to Yale, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has also integrated the digital loan cards for their students. The first batch will begin their reader journey first week of September.
