Kazakhstan to open its first Human Library
We are proud to announce that the former Russian republic of Kazakhstan will host its first Human Library on September 29th, 2012. The event will take place at Lisakovsk Secondary School where the readers will be the students of the school.
Our local partners and new friends in Kazakhstan work voluntarily to build a better community – a more tolerant and accepting community. They have decided that the Human Library is one of the most important and powerful tools in this effort and especially want to target young people.
“We are two teachers and a senior university student from Lisakovsk and when we found out about the Human Library, we fell in love with the idea and we believe that it will help people in our community become more tolerant and understanding toward each other” says local organizer Alina Dashkewitz.
To promote the event and to encourage new partnerships, a website has been setup in Russian. Visit the site to contact the Human Library organizers in Kazakhstan and to follow the launch of the project.
