Human Library wins the Community Award 2017
The Human Library™ were among the recipients of the Danish Community Award 2017 (Fællesskabsprisen) on June 22nd in Copenhagen. The Award Ceremony was held at Hotel King Arthur and the leader of the Socialdemocratic Party, Mrs Mette Frederiksen opened the event with a speech stressing the need for communities to come together in this time of division and challenge.
Celebrating every day heroes
The Community Award works to find and recognize the people and projects that contribute to strengthening the community. The organizations behind the initiative believe that we all can learn something important from ordinary Danes, and that even the smallest projects have great potential to contribute to the wide community and make a difference. The Community Award is for those we can not do without.
The winners of the Community Award are selected by a jury consisting of the partners. The jury selects the winners based on a number of criteria, for example. Geographical location, gender, professional and social focus. There is also a distinction between individuals, groups and associations. In 2017, the Community Prize focuses on initiatives that relate to working communities with issues of inequality, learning and loneliness.
