Book of the Month: Psychic Healer
Since childhood, Linda has lived with a sense of people being around her. She’s an Open Book and shares her story of being a psychic healer, but also about living as an outsider.

“This event helps the Museum facilitate public dialogue about important human-rights issues. Building linkages to the community and promoting human-rights education is an important part of our role.”
“This helped me better understand myself and honestly, I mean “Human Library”, sounded kind of square to me, so I had never expected it to be such a powerful and moving experience.”
“I went to an event several years ago in CT and my husband and I still talk about it often. We’d love to host one in our town.”
The Human Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. The Human Library is a place where real people are on loan to readers. A place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered. The Human Library is a danish idea from 2000 and is now available in more than 80 countries.

Paris’ story, on the surface, is about the care system: how she got into it, what her experience was like, and how it is affecting her to this day. Mostly, however, her story is about making a life for herself despite all that happened and how to get something positive out of what she has experienced.
The Human Library is preparing for a new Reading Garden season. This season, we are open for loans every Sunday from April 23rd, providing even more opportunities for Readers to unjudge someone.
