Human Library - Take out a prejudice

Human Library at the University of Ottawa, Ontario, CanadaLink to the local organizers website in English and French

Students and faculty at the University of Ottawa are preparing to host their first Human Library event on campus on February 23rd, 2012.The local organizers want to give Teacher Education students the opportunity to face their prejudices through the use of a Human Library.

The event is specifically targeted the students enrolled in Teacher Education and as such it is not a public event. Among the titles expected to be on loan are the Aboriginal student, student who has experienced bullying, student with disabilities, student living in poverty, parent of a child with autism, and
parent in a same-sex couple.

The Human Library event will be part of a conference called “Global Outlooks, Local Meanings,” organized by Developing a Global Perspectives for Educators/ Developpement d’une perspective globale pour enseignants et enseignates at the University of Ottawa. The event is funded by the University of Ottawa.
