Switzerland introducing the Human Library this Summer
While many other countries in Europe have long ago introduced the Human Library, the time has come for Switzerland. This summer at the BELLUARD BOLLWERK INTERNATIONAL Festival, the Human Library Organization is proud to confirm the first appearance in Switzerland. In partnership with the Festival a 7-day Human Library event will happen at the State Library in the City of Fribourg.
For more details on the Swiss event see our Activites section.
More countries will follow this year
Greece already did their first event this year, Thailand is pondering on their launch, the Maldives are right behind, Egypt and Israel are waking up and so we expect that at least 10 new countries will join the 50+ list of countries hosting Human Libraries this year. All using the concept to encourage dialogue and further the understanding of diversity. The goal is 198 nations, it has taken almost ten years to get this far, but surely it will not take another ten years to get there.
Thank you to all the local champions of the Human Library. For doing your part in creating more cohesion and giving people an opportunity to sit and talk with persons they would otherwise never meet.
