Human Library - Take out a prejudice

Part of the Living Libraries Australia networkHuman Library at Stories Bookstore, Launceston, Australia

The Launceston City Councils Human Library program is another example of a permanently reoccurring Human Library community program in Australia. The Human Library celebrates diversity and challenges stereotypes and prejudices in the local community by encouraging residents to engage with people they may never otherwise meet through visits to the Human Library. On March 20th readers can take out Living Books from the Stories Bookshop in Launceston.

The project is a Tasmanian first, developed through a partnership between the Launceston City Council, WD Booth Charitable Trust, Metro Tasmania and the Launceston Library.
