Norwegian Human Library organiser finding new ways - again.
Talk about taking an idea and doing what you can to distribute and integrate it. The Norwegian People´s Aid is one of very few organizations that has worked with the Human Library in a targeted manner, since 2003. Norway was the first country to setup a real size Human Library, outside Denmark in 2002 followed by Hungary, Portugal and many more.
Regional Human Library resource pools.
Through the amazing work of the NPA and its committed staff and volunteers. The Human Library has been implemented in schools, festivals, conferences and public libraries alike. A bus tour has been tested and the latest developments include establishing a model similar to the one we are introducing in the United States, regional organizational groups, that include books, Librarians and other volunteers. A major source of books are the different organizations and institutions, they are also meant to be tied into the local Human Library resource pool. Making recruting books much faster and establishing infrastructure for events more efficient.
Hard working organizer.
In the past five years the Norwegian People´s Aid have hosted more than 70 Human Library events around Norway. Kristine Lindberg from the NPA´s says: We have had nothing but great experiences so far and this is a concept which we are trying to develop further for the benefit of our target groups. Norwegians can rest assured, more Living Libraries are in the pipeline. The work with the Human Library is part of the organizations anti-racism program.
