New Zealand put itself on the Human Library map.
Why start off with a just a one day event, if you can launch a week long Human Library, such as the one that premiered last year in New Zealand. During the Library Week in October 2007, the Human Library was introduced to the patrons of the public libraries with the support of the National Library of New Zealand.
More meaningful information than a shelf full of books.
Hosted by the New Zealand Library Association, LIANZA. The first Human Library event in New Zealand was introduced as: "Prejudice is often kept alive by the lack of good information and given the opportunity to meet face to face, in a safe environment; people can pass on more meaningful information in thirty minutes than a shelf full of books ever can". Its expected the event will be repeated for this years Library Week in August.
