Students and staff at Mount Allision University will take out their first Living Books on April 6th, 2010. The event has come about as part of a class project for a senior seminar course on the psychology of prejudice. All members of the class have participated in organizing the event (e.g., recruiting books, developing catalogues, promotion/advertising) and the students will “staff” the library on the day of the event.

The Living Books are composed of representatives of various groups on campus including gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender, football players, female hockey players, fine arts students, feminists, etc., as well as occupational groups (e.g., funeral director, clergy, professors, landlords), complimentary therapists, environmentalists, etc.

The event will be presented in a large multi-purpose room in the Student Centre on campus and is also open to the general public.
