Human Library - Take out a prejudice

Human Library bus tour launch in Copenhagen Monday.

Danish organizer Kul-tour´s ethnic miniority themed Human Library bus tour kicked off from Copenhagen town square today. A windy monday afternoon saw the organizers almost get blown away by the shy summer weather in the city. The launch is the first stop on the tour which takes the twenty young minority youth to seven cities in seven days. For a week these young people are full time books in a travelling Human Library, very similar to the one carried out in Norway in 2003 by the Norwegian People´s Aid.Preparing the stage.

Project co-ordinator Michael Seeberg has high expectations for this years tour. Last year was the first time and the great experiences had made the organizers, part of the danish Scout movement, hungry for more. "We are looking to maximise outcomes for books and reader in order to better evaluate the concrete results of the tour", says Michael Seeberg.

Its not a cheap setting that the Danish Scouts have chosen to use. Staying away from home for seven nights is costly and so the project initiaters have applied for funding in the Danish Ministry for Integration and recieved support for the tour. Also the Danish youth council supported the project which is hosted under the Scouts. Follow the tour blog HERE (in danish only).
