Human Library - Take out a prejudice

Part of the Living Libraries Australia NetworkLaunceston Human Library

The Launceston City Councils Human Library program is another example of a permanently reoccurring Human Library community program in Australia. The Human Library celebrates diversity and challenges stereotypes and prejudices in the local community by encouraging residents to engage with people they may never otherwise meet through visits to the Human Library.

The project is a Tasmanian first, developed through a partnership between the Launceston City Council, WD Booth Charitable Trust, Metro Tasmania and the Launceston Library. The Human Library operates on the second Friday of the month from 11.00am - 2.00pm. Readers and 'books' can register at the Launceston Library. Phone 0415 399 716 or email for more information.
