New record for website hits in August
The growing interest for the Human Library has brought about new records for the website. According to the Google Analytics 9.652 visitors from 124 countries popped in to see what the fuzz is all about. Now for us that is an impressive figure.
US pushed from no.1 by German readers in a day
Since the opening of the website the americans have been dominating the statistics. Number one every month untill now, Germany has come flying onto the scene with an impressive 2.021 visitors - all of them in the same day!! The explanation for the increase is simple, an article reporting from a recent Human Library event in Copenhagen was published in Der Spiegel. The Top-10 list of countries in August includes Denmark, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Australia, France, Switzerland and Poland.
A Human Library with global appeal
When you look at where the visitors to this website come from, it gets even more interesting. Since the launch of the website visitors came from 163 countries to read about the Human Library. It could be a signal that understanding diversity is a global issue and that people from all over the world are looking for good ideas and inspiration on how to adress a variety of issues. The Human Library is one way to try and start a debate and to bring focus to stereotypes and prejudices in a broad as well as specific context.
Mexico is expected to be one of the next countries to introduce the Human Library.
