Human Library at Erina Library
Introducing the Human Library a world of conversations in Gosford City, New South Wales. This local organizer hosts events at Erina Library but also at the city fair.
They always need new people from diverse backgrounds, or who have had particular life experiences, to be Living Books. People can contact the library to express their interest in becoming a Living Book. Potential Living Books will attend a training session to help their knowledge and understanding of the Human Library process, and increase their confiddence in speaking with strangers.
The Human Library generally operates once per month and readers are allocated a time for their book reading. They sign a form stating that they understand the terms and conditions of the Human Library, and undertake to uphold them, including treating the Living Books with dignity and respect.
Living Books can be borrowed for a period of approximately one hour and can be renewed once only.
The Human Library in Gosford is organised by a volunteer committee of community members. The Committee can be contacted via Erina Library.
