The target group are students, staff and faculty at McMaster University, however, the event is open and will be publicized in the greater community of Hamilton. On April 2nd, 2014 the medical students from Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania are invited to meet some of their future patients at a Human Library event designed specifically to prepare the students for the diversity they will encounter when they start to practice medicine. The concept of using the Human Library as a tool to prepare our coming doctors was first introduced in Canada but is now spreading to the US. This event is not open to the public.
