Canada has quickly become one of the most active countries in regards to hosting Human Libraries. On October 20th, 2012, Oshawa Public Libraries will host their first Human Library featuring a broad selection of Living Books to provide the community with an opportunity to meet people of diverse experiences and viewpoints. To break down stereotypes and open communication in a friendly environment.
The local organizers expect titles to include the buddhist, the homeopath, a police officer, a farmer, a medium, an Imam (muslim priest), and the cancer survivor. The event has been made possible with support from Friends of the Library.
