In celebration of Cultural Days 2012, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) will be hosting its second Human Library event on Saturday, September 29 at Maple Library (10190 Keele Street), from 1 – 4 p.m. VPL invites all to come out to this great event to learn about different life stories from our Human Books as they share their experiences on a wide range of topics including arranged marriages, midwifery, crime writing, belly dancing and more! You can sign out a Human Book for 30 minute blocks of time. If no one is waiting for your book at the end of your time slot, you may have the option of renewing your book. You can talk with your book one-on-one, or in a small group (maximum of 3 people).
Titles expected to be available to readers will include Against All Odds – Living with Sickle Cell Disease, From Mad to Glad, choosing to live in an arranged marriage and many more. As always the services of the Human Library are free to its readers.
