In a partnership between Central Missouri Community Action and Linn State Tech College, the first Human Library in the state of Missouri will open its doors to students and faculty on September 19th, 2012.
The Human Library is part of CMCA’s and LSTC’s efforts to realize a strategic objective to engage the community as well as diverse audiences and increase access to information in innovative ways. The local organizers want to bring diversity to the forefront of the community and give the readers the option of learning about other cultures, religions and life choices.
Readers are invited to challenge their perceptions on a variety of issues including religion, abortion, mixed races, poverty, welfare, handicaps, drunk driving, drugs and law enforcement.
The organizers hope the Human Library can be a bridge to building relationships across race and class lines, improving the lives in the community that CMCA and LSTC serve, Osage County.
The Human Library Organization is proud to partner with Central Missouri Community Action and Linn State Tech College.
