Human Libraries have been held in Perm since 2012, but this upcoming event will be the biggest one ever. This time the Human Library is a part of the summer urban civic festival “Posle Piloramy”, that is held in Perm from 8 to 12th of July, 2015. For many years large civic and human rights festival “Pilorama” was held in Perm region in Russia. It was conducted in the unique museum of political repressions “Perm 36”, a former prison for political convicts. A few years ago the initiative was devastated by authorities (pressure, cuts of funding, dismissal of employees of the museum, violation of the agreements).
This year civic activists have decided to organize the festival themselves and call it “Posle Piloramy” which means “after “Pilorama”. Most events of the festival “Posle Piloramy” will happen in Perm from 8 to 11 of July. One of the most symbolic events, will be held on the 12th of July at Kuchino, the area of the former festival.
The organizers expect to present a wide range of titles including a Homeless, the Roma, the refugee and Hiv. As always the services of the Human Library are free to readers.
