Human Library - Take out a prejudice

Human Library at Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced LearningLink to the local organizers website in English

In conjunction with the Conestoga College’s Respect Campaign project, a Human Library is integrated as part of the Respect Week celebrations on campus. The event will take place on February 28th, 2012 at the College library.

The local organizers aim to build more awareness about the diversity of students who attend Conestoga College and to put focus on the impact of disrespectful behaviour when prejudices/stereotypes are used, and to provide education on the diversity of our student body.

The week of celebrations, in addition to the Human Library, is to help reinforce the message of building a respectful, welcoming and inclusive campus community for all students.

Among the living books expected to be available on the day, readers can find titles such as,

The New Canadian & International students, Mental health issues, Health issues, Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, Single Parents, Mature Students & Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Trans students. A little something for everyone.

The Human Library Organization is proud to partner with the Conestoga College and their Respect initiative.

As always the services of the Human Library are free to its readers.
