Ottawa Public Library, Canadian War Museum and CBC Ottawa present the Human Library

The Human Library has landed strongly on its feet in Canada. This is underlined by the six events presented on January 28th, 2012 in a partnership between Ottawa Public Library, the Canadian War Museaum and the CBC Ottawa. At five different branches of the Ottawa Public Library and at the Canadian War Museum, readers are invited to try out one of the more than 60 living books that have been lined up for the day.

The extensive event has been dubbed "Real People. Real Conversations" by the local organizers and the selection of books available looks very promising. Among other readers can take out a stripper, a muslim, a WWII veteran who served in Dieppe, Algeria and Sicily and a Algonquin Spiritual Advisor. Over 60 people from the National Capital Region have volunteered to be a “living book”, share their stories and answer questions from readers.

As always the services of the Human Library are free to its readers.
