Human Library - Take out a prejudice

Human Library at Brooklyn Park LibraryLink to the local organizers website in English

The Human Library Organization is proud to present the first event in the state of Minnesota. On May 15th, 2010, visitors to the Brooklyn Park Library will be the first readers in Minnesota to take out a Living Book. The event is prepared by the Library´s adult programming coordinator in an attempt to foster dialogue between the previously existing populace and the many new immigrants in a safe and informative structure.

The primary target group for the event will be adults in the community, with a secondary target of local middle and high school students. The local organizers will be promoting the Human Library through their web page, flyers, newspaper and the programming book. They will also be promoting it at local senior centers, the community center, and through the schools in the community.

The event itself will take place in a large function room at the Community Activity Center across the parking lot from the library.
