Human Library in Rio this summer
Get ready for samba, sun and Living Books in Rio this summer. As the first Human Library in Brazil and South America is being organized for this years MOSTRA PUC fair that happens in August, at PUC University in Rio de Janeiro.
The idea came about when Professor Roberta Lourenço Ziolli, from PUC University, read an article about the Human Library and decided to take initiative to bring the Human Library to her country: “It is something completely different from everything we have and it is such a brilliant idea that I simply could not forget about it” says the new Human Library organizer.
Professor Ziolli has invited journalist Camila Welikson to work with her on this project and together they decided to implement the Human Library inside MOSTRA PUC, the biggest Brazilian fair directed towards university students that will occur on August, 2009 with an expected participation of 100.000 young people. The program of this annual event includes cultural presentations and social services to the community and is free of charge, a perfect place to host a Human Library.
The fair will take place from August 25-28th on campus.
