Bainbridge Island was the second Public Library in the United States to host a Human Library as part of the launch in the United States in 2008. The good impressions from the first event spurred an appetite for more and so the local organizers have entered into partnership with the local High School to stage an event for the students.
Some the titles expected to be available to readers at the events are the hunter, the military officer and the vegan. The events are organised by the Library in partnership with the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council, the City of Bainbridge Island and the Bainbridge Historical Society. As always the services of the Human Library are free to the public.
