Human Library at Kipseli Market, Atheens, Greece
The first open to public Human Library event in Greece will unfold next weekend at the hands of the Human Library Greece team. The organizing team and national contact point for the Human Library in Greece have gone through great preparations before launching this concept to the public. A test event was carried out in February followed by a workshop in March. So with the books in place and more than 20 years of experience with organizing events for social and environmental purposes. The Human Library Greece is ready for take-off.
The event will take place outdoors at the Market of Kipseli, a community project in an old semi-open market building in the center of Athens. The titles expected to be on hand there include the African woman, a Policeman, an Asylum Seeker, the Disabled, the Gay, a Cancer Survivor, Romani, a Feminist, a mental health patient suffering from a depression, the Turkish citizen living in Greece and an interpreter for Deaf people. If you are out and about on town in Atheens next weekend, pop in and try a Living Book, its free and a great way to challenge your perceptions.
